RELEASE|January 12, 2021

Rep. Annette Glenn, R-Midland, this week presented special legislative tributes to Meridian Public Schools Superintendent Craig Carmoney and to the Midland Rotary Club – honoring significant achievements within the community.

Carmoney was recognized for his selection as 2021 Superintendent of the Year by the Michigan Association of Superintendents and Administrators. The Midland Rotary Club was recognized as it celebrates its 100th anniversary.

“There is nothing I enjoy more in this job than celebrating the successes of our community and those who make it such a great place to live,” Glenn said. “Both Superintendent Carmoney and the Midland Rotary Club are richly deserving of this special recognition based on their wonderful accomplishments.”

The Superintendent of the Year award is presented to a superintendent who has shown tremendous effort and dedication to enriching the lives of children and the community as a whole.

Glenn’s tribute to Superintendent Carmoney, in part, reads: “In addition to helping his district with specific innovations in the classroom and programs, he is being honored for success in the most fundamental component of learning – motivating educators and young people.”

Glenn presented the Midland Rotary Club tribute to Carly Lillard, the organization’s president. The tribute, in part, reads: “This milestone is a reflection of unselfishness and commitment to the common good that is most commendable.” The resolution recognizes the Rotary Club’s student scholarship, charity and community building programs.
