Rep. Kahle hosts Lenawee County family for ceremony honoring Michiganders fallen in line of duty
RELEASE|September 10, 2020

Rep. Bronna Kahle today hosted family members of a fallen Michigan Department of Corrections employee during a special Michigan House of Representatives ceremony.

The annual ceremony honors those fallen in the line of duty in Michigan, along with a remembrance of the 9/11 terrorist attacks from 2001.
Among those honored in the ceremony was Randy Rumler of Adrian, who died July 3 of this year from COVID-19. He was 55. His wife, Alisha, and daughter, Raelynn, attended today’s ceremony.

For more than two decades, Randy Rumler worked as a corrections officer at the Gus Harrison Correctional Facility in Lenawee County. He also was an Army veteran.

“Randy Rumler was a dedicated public servant who worked on the front lines to help protect us all – even during a devastating global pandemic,” Kahle said. “His selflessness and service should be remembered and honored, and that is what this ceremony at the state Capitol is all about.”
