State Rep. Dale Zorn has been recognized by the office of the U.S. Secretary of Defense for outstanding dedication to and support of veterans, service members and their families.

The certificate of appreciation signed by Defense-State Liaison Director Geraldine Valentino-Smith states that Zorn’s advocacy “has made a tremendous impact on the military population in Michigan.”

Zorn has long been an advocate for military members and their families since he first assumed legislative office in 2011.

“It’s an honor to receive this recognition. It has been among my greatest honors as a legislator to have the opportunity to cast votes in support of our military heroes and to meet and recognize our servicemen and servicewomen and their families for their outstanding dedication and sacrifices,” Zorn said. “We could not enjoy the blessings of our freedoms and everyday comforts were it not for those who put country before self to protect us – many of them at the cost of their own lives.”
